Dear Debbie...

Being in the midst of the care of infant triplets, I would not have time to blog about the experience. However, I would like to say that the shirts we purchased from you meant so much to my daughter and the nurses enjoyed changing out the outfits as well. The nurses really liked your designs and wished they could have something similar for their baby clothing. We were blessed that all of our babies were born at 34 weeks, at 5.5 lbs, 4 lbs 14 oz, and 3 lbs 7 oz. None had any health issues and all were home within two weeks. They were all out of preemie clothing by the end of the 4th week. Now they are 9 weeks old and doing what ordinary two month old babies do! They smile, and look at colors and light and are very happy. Each grandparent takes one baby each night and my daughter has one since her husband works at night. Three days a week I help at their house with all three. We are all sleep deprived, exhausted and full of joy that we did not have to suffer any serious complications.

Talking to you on the phone helped me very much with my fear before the babies were born. Not knowing was worse than dealing with what actually happened. My best advice for anyone in the NICU is to not be afraid to hold your children and to ask friends and relatives to come and help. I think the fact that every day each child got at least two hours of cuddling helped them to thrive so quickly. Even though it is not easy to move them with tubes and monitors, it can be done and the nurses are always glad to help. My daughter and I even stayed at the hospital for three days during a hurricane, which was a wild experience. It made me sad to speak with some of the mothers who were afraid to hold their babies…they need your love!

Thank you for what you do and I pray for every family that has to go through this ordeal…

Peace,
Nannette Coons

May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God....
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.
